    Mark your calendars!  It’s almost time for hockey registration.  Registration for the 2006/2007 hockey season will be held:

It’s Back!

Calendar Raffle

                The Cumberland Youth Hockey Association is excited to inform you that our popular hockey season raffle calendars will be sold again this year!

                The Calendar Raffle will be our main revenue source for our facility.  For those of you new to the association, in prior years we have sold “raffle calendars” that cover our hockey season months.  The calendars will go from December, 2006, to April, 2007 – our hockey season.

                The Calendars will sell for $20.00 or 3 for $50.00. On the back of this newsletter you will find a miniaturized copy of the two page calendar.  The first page outlines the pay-out schedule and has a corner portion that the buyer completes showing Name, Address, Phone Number and a box to check for what the calendar sold for (1 for $20 or 3 for $50).

                The second page of the raffle calendar will be a print-out of the five month period, outlining the daily amount of the raffle amounts to be won, along with important tournament dates and the higher paying holidays.  Sales due in by December 1^st.

                20 per family – We are expecting each registered hockey family to sell a minimum of 20 calendars.  Do you feel that is expecting too much out of our members?  If you feel that way, please reconsider.  In prior years, families regularly have sold 50 of these calendars annually.  You may check  out calendars for sale at The Apothecary or the Cumberland Municipal Utility.  Later on, the calendars will also be available at the hockey arena.

Please take your 20 calendars as soon as possible – the sooner they begin to be sold, the quicker we will reach our sales goal.  Afraid you can’t sell them?  Don’t think anyone other than family will buy?? Don’t discount your sales before you have even tried - Pick up the telephone and call people you know that support Cumberland Hockey… Drive your hockey player around the neighborhood and knock on doors… Keep some calendars with you in your vehicle... When you’re out to eat, at a ball game, or whatever, try to make a sale by simply saying  “Are you interested in participating in our Calendar Raffle?”  and then you may want to show them a calendar and explain our raffle.

donating the cost of printing up the calendars again this year – Thanks Brian!  Also as in previous years, we will award 3 calendars to the top selling family, 2 to the next, and 1 to the third top family.  So, let’s get started!  Spread the word and get your calendars!

Rutabaga Info.

                Anyone interested in skating in the Rutabaga Festival Parade to represent Cumberland Hockey, please contact Jamie or Connie Black @822-3851 to let them know and to find out the time and place to meet before the Parade.

                Cumberland Hockey is also happy to announce that we are going to have a food stand again at the Festival!  We will be selling Buffalo Wings in the Club Cumberland’s back lot!  We need volunteers to man the stand.  Please contact Black’s to help.  Email: jblack_em@hotmail.com.  Thank!!
